VOLKSWAGEN BEETLE Used Car Review

Pros

Cons

  • Original Beetle is a widely beloved classic
  • Modern mechanicals of newer Beetles
  • Composed, comfortable ride of 2013's The Beetle
  • The Beetle's willing engine and refined gearbox
  • Conditions of original Beetles will vary wildly - as will prices
  • Design of modern Beetles a case of form over function
  • Tight rear seats of modern Beetles
  • Less practical, less sophisticated than a Golf

  • 4 cyl 2.0L

Ideal fist car with very low km for its age. Reliable VW 2.0 Inline 4 engine with enough power to transfer you instantly to the nearby beach or to make you smile while being captured by speed camera. Yellow colour looks stunning from the distance, but close look will discover faded areas, colour peeling and overall discoloration due to Mexican factory's quality assurance system and Australian weather conditions. VW Beetle, Bought for my daughter 4 years ago and now she has upgraded. Paint and interior in really good condition. Problems: Glove box clip broken and wont shut. Automatic gear stick stuck in park due to a sticky solenoid. Sometimes sluggish up hills, not sure whats going on here but seems like a slip in the drive train. Would really suit someone who is mechanically minded to repair these items. Sold as is. Registered until July.
