The 1998 Holden Special Vehicles GTS is truly exceptional. Build # 359 with all matching numbers. This is one of the very last "Holden" engined cars to be built. It is actually 5.8 ltrs (355 cu. in.) and features a 355 stroker crank from Ron Harrop (Standard HSV build). These crankshafts were used in the VR - VS 215 Senators and GTS and also the VT GTS with a roller camshaft. I bought this car in 2002 at 56,000 kms and am only the second owner from new. I am now retired and very sorr

WHAT TO LOOK OUT FOR: HSV GTS (2013 TO 2017)

The very last HSV GTSs had all moved to a supercharged engine, so a service record is absolutely crucial as these engines ran their oil hotter than ever before.

Listen for a ticking noise on start-up that could be dud hydraulic lifters. If that's the case they need to be replaced, so check the rocker bearings and the valve springs while you're in there.

The electric power-steering on these cars could suddenly stop working for no reason and then magically start to work again the next time the car was started.

The problem was traced to corrosion entering the wiring connectors and causing the assistance motor to stop randomly.

The GTS was also recalled to check the torque on the ball-joint bolts in the front end which may have been installed incorrectly at the factory.

A dealer can confirm whether this has been done.
