This fantastic living edge side table is made from a huge single tree trunk segment of solid wood. The table stands 55cm tall and has a diameter of approx 51cn, making it perfect as either a coffee table or side table. The wood has been trimmed, sanded, oiled and polished so there is no chance of splinters, or snagged clothes or rugs. This unique coffee table has been workshop created using a unique Marri burl milled to 35mm thickness. The slab has an amazing circular shape, elongated into an oval from where the burl grew on the south side of the tree. More then a decade ago Workshop87 was given a series of huge Jarrah tree trunk segments by a tree lopper. For the past 10 years they have seasoned and dried, until they were ready to be used as furniture. The Honey Myrtle was felled in Perth's Swan Plateau more than 5 years ago, and after being segmented by the tree lopped, was seasoned outside for 5 years by Workshop87.
