This is an old one - meaning it is much thicker and sturdier plastic than you will find today. The lid has an O ring and when you screw it down is waterproof, especially if you put a smear of silicon grease on the ring. These drums are ideal for stowing dry gear on boats and canoes. Just replace the tap with a screw in bung (not included because I don't have one) OR you can put a tap in them (included) and use them as a water store in a vehicle.
