Restored Quad 405. Imported this from the UK approx 2 years ago. It had at that point been modified with RCA inputs and new speaker binding posts. The main boards had all the electrolytics replaced with new high quality (& high-temp - 105C) electrolytic capacitors. The original op-amp was replaced with an OP604 (much better spec). I subsequently had an issue with one channel cutting out. The amp was sent to DADA Electronics in Melbourne where the following work was carried out.

This pair of seriously powerful amplifiers originally came from the ABC’s Sydney studio (see mains cable test tags which I’ve left on). My electronics technician has recently serviced these amps and everything works perfectly. The original ¼” TR input connectors have been replaced with high quality silver RCA connectors. I even toyed with the idea of replacing the speaker binding posts but my technician says that the originals are installed better than he’s seen on most modern equipment.
