This exquisite Victorian era medicine glass with travel case is made of very thin glass and is in pristine condition. The black faux leather travel case is also still in nice condition with just a few nicks on the outside area - see pictures. This is an antique, green glass bottle that has etched on it 'The Property Of M & R Roberts Fitzroy'. Fitzroy is one of the oldest of Melbourne's inner city suburbs and I think this bottle is from around of the late 19th century or very early 20th century. This is a pair of ANTIQUE, stoneware (ironstone clay) stout or porter bottles, both with their corks securely in place and both finished with a vitreous cream salt glaze or Bristol glaze (using zinc-oxide feldspathic glaze). The bottles originated from 'Henry Kennedy & Sons Co - Barrowfield Potteries in the Camlachie district east of Glasgow near the Camlachie clay beds.
