Two Vintage Hinged Metal Carnation Corn Cap Tins

2 vintage Carnation corn cap hinged metal tins for 6 caps each. Both tins are empty. The older tin is in poor to fair condition with a lot of spotty rust on the lid. It was made in 1940s. The other tin was made in 1950s and is in very good condition. Instructions for their use are on the bottoms of the tins and has different wording. It is noticeable that the older tin's instructions require the Corn caps to be left on for 3 days compared to the 6 days needed for the later Corn caps. Both were

Made by Burroughs, Wellcome & Co., probably in Sydney before about 1920. There are some spotty rust and scratchings on the tin. A better example of it is held in the collection of the Whitehorse Historical Society Inc in Victoria although that one is empty. It was used to treat nasal problems like a cold or hay fever. Small Tubular Pill Box For Beecham's Patent Pills Incl 10 Pills

For the avid apothecary collector, here is a near perfect box for Beecham's Patent Pills dating about 1920-30s. This box also contains what appears to be 10 small Pills albeit somewhat dessicated - see photos. An early 1900s W Woodroofe Ltd, Norwood, SA clear straight glass lemonade bottle. This bottle is about 25.5cm high with an 8.5cm diameter base. This bottle appears to have been used for storing copper nails as there are still a couple in it. There is also, an early port wine barrel-shaped bottle which still has it's original label and cork stopper. The label on the port bottle indicates it was produced by Alexander & Paterson, a Melbourne wine merchant which distributed it's own wine products

Rare WWII Navy Patrol Hat Band

Rare Navy patrol cap or hat band from World War Two measuring about 61cm long and 5cm wide. One end was adjusted to shorten it slightly for the last wearer and so it could be adjusted longer for a larger hat/cap. Also, there are copper hooks at each end which would have been used to keep it on and perhaps make it tighter. Cash for Canberra pickup. Postage would be extra.
