The slightly younger pair with the column and chequered pattern on the front have "GERMANY" stamped on the base with only the cloves jar having some slight crazing on one side. There may be a maker's name moulded into the white base but it is indistinguishable (I hope it's not Meissen porcelain). The pair with just the chequered pattern at the top of the front are Leonore

The dark blue handled zester has a galvanised steel head, frame and collar and only a little rust on the edge of the inside of the head. It was made in about 1947/8. The light blue and white

Vintage 1940-50s Pair of Fancy Vegetable Shape Cutters

Postage is extra. Cash if picking up locally in Canberra. These 1940-50s vegie shape cutters would have been (and still could be) used for cutting pieces of vegetable or fruit into fancy shapes for hors d'oeuvres at cocktail parties or to arouse interest for main course or dessert delivery at dinner parties. Indeed, children are more likely to eat fruit and vegies if you can serve it up in fancy shapes. These pieces have had blue coloured wooden handles overpainted with a red gloss and hooks pu

4 Vintage Long French Skewers with Soldered Brass Finials

Postage is extra. Cash if picking up locally in Canberra. These 1960-70s galvanised steel and brass skewers were purchased from an antique shop selling only vintage and antique French items. They range in length from 32 to 36 cms. The brass finials are soldered on to the galvanised steel rods and include a rabbit, fish, chicken and native with a huge headdress. There is no sign of rust and I would suggest they have never been used. I couldn't bring myself to spoil their appearance by using them

A Bit of History of Potato Peelers for The Potato Peeling Aficionado

Postage is extra. Cash if picking up locally in Canberra. Now, I don't know about you, but I love peeling spuds if I need to, for example when making corn and bacon chowder (which has potato squares in it). In developing my fetish, I have used all of the versions you see in the main photo. A couple of them have a stainless blade attached to a wooden handle with what looks like tarred or waxed twine and one of these has been reinforced with gaffer tape. Later versions have the serrated edges on

Vintage (1950s) Whittingsbowe Pea Sheller

Postage is extra. Cash if picking up locally in Canberra. Another Gummie has convinced me that this Whittingslowe pea sheller is the real thing but a later (1950s) model than the other older (1940s) one. So now I am selling them separately. Whittingslowe used chrome plated steel with a small timber handle and rubber rollers. It has some minor rust marks on the inside of the neck but seems clear of other wear signs. There is a short video on u-tube on how these work if you are interested.

Postage is extra. Cash if picking up locally in Canberra. 1940-50s dark copper green purse with metal frame within which is another similar but smaller leather purse with a metal frame and an identical but smaller clasp. Antique 19th Century Tiny Leather Coin or Jewellery Purse

Postage is extra. Cash if picking up locally in Canberra. Well made, very old antique leather and chrome plated metal coin or jewellery purse. The inside of the the purse was originally silk-lined but this has deteriorated to such an extent that it would be better to pull it out if the purse was put into use rather than used as a display item. The clasp and frame are in very good condition but the leather could do with a little TLC by an expert restorer.

Vintage Small Green Snakeskin, Fine Leather and Metal Purse

Postage is extra. Cash if picking up locally in Canberra. Vintage green dimpled skin purse which I am calling snakeskin because it is the closest texture and pattern to that. In fact, it might not be a purse but a card holder or some kind of compact holder. Any suggestions would be helpful. It has a metal push in clasp and has a compartment on each side when opened which are slightly different with LHS having a higher flap. The tan leather on the inside is very smooth and fine and sides are mad

Postage is extra. Cash if picking up locally in Canberra. 1950s art deco Pates Potteries Sydney large ceramic brown and green vase with it's original foil label under corner of the price tag (latter now unreadable). It's measurements are approximately 20 x 17 x 10cm. It doesn't have any chips or cracks or crazing. Some of the brown and green glazing got on the bottom when it was fired but that doesn't detract from it's usefulness or it's value.

1900 Sterling Silver Crocodile Skin Purse with 9 Torquoise Studs

Antique crocodile skin purse hallmarked by William Hutton in London in 1900. It has sterling silver tabs on the corners of the front flap of the purse, each of which is inset with 3 torquoise studs. There is also a sterling silver tab in the middle of the flap with another 3 torquoise studs. This is the top of the purse's closing mechanism, the bottom part of which is also sterling silver. When I bought the purse, several of the torquoise studs were missing and so, I arranged for a jeweller t

Antique Crocodile and Sterling Silver Money Purse 1901

Postage is extra. Cash if picking up locally in Canberra. According to the Birmingham Assay Office, there was a Ludwig Krumm who registered an L.K, and perhaps an L•K as is seen on the silver frame of this crocodile skin purse from 1901 for items he made between 1896 to 1903. The lower case b indicates 1901-02. I don't know what the F means after the b although one theory is that it means foreign made. The purse is in good nick considering it's age. There are 2 tears in the very fine leather of
